About The Authors
Tim and Edith Leavitt: Mycologists. Photographers. Cooks. Tim and Edith have a combined almost 40 years of mushroom picking experience in the West. Tim studied taxonomy with David Hosford at Central Washington University and studied cultivation at Fungi Perfecti. Tim has worked as a mushroom cultivator, mushroom landscaper and a mycologist involved with the creation of Environmental Impact Statements for the U.S.F.S. He has lectured 4th grade classes, University classes and at P.S.M.S meetings. Tim and Edith have more secret mushrooms spots than most pickers have spots.
Brandon Binger: Photographer. Mushroom Picker. Cook. Brandon has been hiking and collecting mushrooms in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains for much of his life. He helped collect and photograph most of the mushrooms in this book and he makes a mean Chanterelle Cream soup.
Joseph Moorman: Cook. Photographer. South African raised Joe Moorman has a passion for cooking and photography, he loves the outdoors and mushroom hunting. While working on this book, we sent him down weekly shipments of our findings. These mushrooms were then prepared to artistic culinary perfection and the recipes were submitted for this book.
